but as you say, liars (=salesmen) can figure
    Ian,
Nothing about a duty cycle. Very good point.

    My figures:
    2.35 x 24 = 56.40
    56.4 x 31 = 1748.40
    1748.40 x 12 = 20980.80
    20980.80 x 3 = 62942.40
Bob's wages and then the leaser 10000.

Round numbers 70,000. And the machine could probably fit into 10 x 4 foot space plus the obligatory 3 foot spacing all around for OSHA.

The machine started with 2½ inch wide stock of the appropriate length. A profile was machined, then the ends were trimmed at 45° with mortise and tenons.

    Yeah, way to go, Bob.

Oh, play with the math $2.35 an hour. I came up with lease payments of $70,000 over three years.
your "Bob" is a slacker, this monster can allegedly do 100 doors per hour

Through independent rails, Bacci MasterPro produces 800 doors per shift | Woodworking Network

what would be interesting is the number of people it requires to keep it fed and to take away the finished doors.

also, how big a spray booth do you need to finish 800 doors per 8 hour shift?

The spray booth itself doesn't need to be that big, the doors are conveyor fed through it. If they use UV cured finishes they'll be dry in under 2 minutes. But when you look at big operators like Wren Kitchens which I mentioned, their custom made paint line is 230 metres long.

As for CNC technologies being for larger shops, Holzher have this 3 man workshop as a customer in Germany - https://www.holzher.com.au/en/refere...df4d4f3cfdfe85

    It's 800 doors pr 8 hour shift.
Would come in handy if you were making kitchens for Ikea.
