    I’m heading down to Tassi this week and I will be in the North West region. Where are the good timber suppliers? Mostly after highly figured timber and burls!

    Hi Wigwood,

    Specialty veneers (corina timbers) in somerset have a good supply of minor species. Distinctive Timbers in Devonport have an excellent selection of figured timber, burls and craftwood (prices reflect the 'uniqueness' of the timber.)
    At trip down to Lynchford just out of Queenstown to visit Bradshaws Mill may be worthwhile - I think I heard once they mill 50% of the huon pine milled in tas, they have sheds and yards full of timber.
    I have bought timber thru Britton Timbers but have not visited the mill yet.
    All the above mentioned have websites for you to look into further.

    Scottsdale isn't quite in the north west, but Jason (Tasmanian Burl on Instagram, TasSculptor on these forums) has a lot of very nice figured timber.
