Default Thicknesser/buzzer blades, at what stage do you stop sharpening them and replace.?

The tile says it all really.
Machine is a 500mm invincible four bladed number.

When you can afford to replace the cutter with a helical head. Which in the case of a SCM L`invincible 500mm thicknesser, could be quite some time.

Depending on how old the machine is, converting it can be suuuper expensive.

We did a Shelix conversion on our SCM S63 a while back and it cost about $5k as the head had to be custom made due to their stock heads not being compatible with the early 70s models.
