Default Thinking of making some plantation shutters

Hi, I`m thinking of making some plantation shutters, seems Basswood would be the way to go but I believe it`s more available in the USA than here in Australia? Anyone got any thoughts on a suitable Aussie timber.....not too heavy, needs to be stable and not prone to too much warping. Was thinking maybe could use Vic Ash?

A few years ago i was looking at starting a plantation shutter business, did i fair bit of investigating and everyone in the business uses Western Red Cedar either for painting or clear finishing.

Somewhere in one of many boxes now in storage I have one of those boxed kit sets you bought at the woodwork & timber shows back in a time before covid or even millenium
I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Australian Red Cedar will out-perform Western Red Cedar.

Maybe the same as Tonyz, I bought Ozzie Multi Jig and the set of DVDs at a Timber and Working With Wood Show.

I have used it, but not for ages. Future retirement should bring it out of retirement

The videos are also great for insomnia

I must rip them to MP4 before I don't have a DVD player or a PC that has an optical drive
