Did someone order some timber?
One of our clients supplies his own timber; European Oak, he imports it directly instead of going through a supplier. Last week this rocks up for us in a truck:

All 3m long, 150-300mm wide and 50mm thick. Some beautiful medullary rays in there too 'cos the Europeans send a mix of quarter and crown cut instead of just crown like the Americans.
Only problem is we got a pack the size of the one on the left last month, which should see us well into next year, and we have nowhere to put the new lot

Appreciate the storage offers, I'll suggest it to the boss
Don't really get much in the way of offcuts from this, we make a lot of different things for this client and even the small stuff usually gets used.
There may end up being some in the annual clear-out pile, I'll post in the market place once we've done our cull of the offcut bins

My take on this is that it's far cheaper to import something as bulky, cumbersome and bureaucratically burdensome as timber than obtain it locally.
We, as a country, have priced ourselves out of everything.
I'd be very interested to know who the client uses for supply and transport.

He also brings in a fair bit of furniture from Europe and, as far as I can tell, he gets the timber from the manufacturer rather than the mill. The first lot we got had the same sticker as the furniture, but it was a much smaller quantity, don't know if that's still the case.
As for transport I wouldn't have a clue. For all I know it may be organised at the European end
Started on a couple of beds with this timber, took a few pics to show off what I get to use

I'm surprised you guys don't have timber racking???
Allocate one wall for the racking and can store quite a bit of timber... Bad thing is that you then need forklift and banding tool..

We do have racking; 2.7m high, 3m wide and 5m deep and if we pile all the new stuff in we won't have space for much else for other orders

Also, no free wall space and no forklift.
They certainly aren't. There are no staples or pine used either
