What is this timber!
Hey everyone,
Found this in the racks and have no idea what it is or where it came from...
Can say it is fiddleback evenly down the whole length but otherwise a fairly plain/even pale beige. Can gauge at least it is not a Tas oak or American oak (just from experience with those two timbers)
CAN YOU HELP ME

I'll second Meranti, given the grain, colour and the 'ease' with which you seem to be holding it.
I'm assuming it's fairly light? What is the weight/density like?
If it's a heavy timber, I've some Ironbark that could be it's identical twin... but the piece I have isn't typical and if I didn't know the tree it came from I'd consider it a mystery timber too.
