    Default Timber id please

    Could one of you knowledgeable people have an idea what sort of timber this is? Pretty sure it's an Oz import to NZ, nice tight grain as per picture and has smaller branches shooting off the sides of the trunk, unfortunately the leaves are dead but the shape is there, cheers.

    Maybe a Callistemon sp (one of the "bottlebrushes") a popular ornamental which I think I saw a lot of in Nth Is of NZ ... maybe
    Closely related to the Paperbarks (Melaleuca species)
