Timber Identification Help
Hello,
Could someone pls help me identify this timber?
It was used in the construction of houses in the 60's here in Victoria, Australia.

Most likely Vic Ash or Tas Oak both generic names for the same timber from different sources.

I'd agree with Bohdan Victorian Ash!

Thanks for the replies.
I am very familiar with Vic Mountain Ash and Tas Oak.
I did put the piece against a Vic Mountain Ash piece of wood and they do look different.
The piece I am trying to identify has smooth silky type curve lines running through it.
The timber is around 50 years old.

It just has widely spaced rings and is crown cut, as opposed to the quarter cut you normally see with closely spaced rings. The timber in the picture is Vic Ash.

Found a heap of it been thrown out.
So now I can check the moisture content and start making some boards with it.
Thanks for replies guys.
