Default townsville - basic course in woodworking

Howdy,

Been a little while since I have had time to get on this forum. So many forums, so much wood, so little time ........ and a wife!

I am looking for someone in townsville to teach me how to make things. Very simple really. I would be prepared to pay a tuition fee of course.

If anyone knows anyone in the Townsville region who either teaches woodwork or knows someone who would be a good teacher I would love to make contact.

I have some very BASIC skills but they are really basic and I would love to increase them and start to make things I am proud to say I made rather than say " Oh .... I found that on the kerb and thought I could use it"

If anyone knows anything could you please sned me a message so I can follow it up.

Many thanks.

When you say the Tville woody club do you mean the wood turners club? or is there another club I dont know about. I have done an internet search and a phone book search but I can not find any wood workers club.

If you have any details could you please let me know as I would love to contact them.

I have tried the TAFE but they seem to have a hard time understanding what it is I am actually after. They only seem to have cabnet makers course for Aprentice Chippies and as I work during the day I am unable to make to the regular classes. I have asked for a contact name for the chippies but the name and number I was given seems to be away at the moment.

Cheers,

Spanner

Hi, I was just wondering if you ever found what you were looking for in regards to a woodworking class/teacher as I am also interested in this. If you are still around and have any suggestions, that would be terrific,

Thanks,

Danni

TAWA I think has extended their woodcraft disciplines beyond just turning and is worth checking out....also the Jet Tool Shop might be able to put you in touch with a source of instruction.
