    Default New toy

Hi, I am sorry in advance if this doesn't belong here But I would like to seek some objective opinions about these 2 meter saws. I'm planning to buy this amazing tool, but I have a hard time deciding on which.

The first one I set my eye on is this Bosch 5312 12" saw
and the second one is 10" compound meter saw

I'm not much of a professional with woodwork, but I'm planning some shed-building for the spring I know that Bosch is a name when any kind of tool is concerned, but they sound a bit pricey for my taste :P So, I would be very grateful if someone could help me decide.

Hi Beginnercrafter and welcome to the show..Good to have you here.

The Bosch would be a far superior saw, it also has the advantage in size and that is
    always worth considering.

I think you will need to consider your budget and what you actually want to do with the saw.
do you really need a compound miter saw? Will you be doing work where compound angles are
    important?

Perhaps a good table saw with a sled will be better. you can cut compound angles with such
    a setup.

In my humble opinion, and based on work that I have done..

Most sheds I have seen are built of 4"x2" timbers. You can cut these and much bigger without the sliding mech. I find my Makita 12" compound mitre saw more than adequate for most jobs at a fraction of the price.

    Cheers
