T-Track, Sail Track, Aluminium profile
I know its a really old topic but I just went through all this again while searching for T-Track - sail track whatever you wanna call it, search this forum and you will see what I mean in old threads. I bought some from Capral years ago, can no longer get it.
Seems really hard to find and no-one is interested in making it as they don't sell that much of the smaller stuff.
GOOD NEWS - I have bought the remaining lengths of Ullrich sail track stock and will be cutting it into smaller sizes to re-sell to woodworkers so anyone interested please let me know.
All drawings specs postage prices etc will be here soon. If I get enough interest I will be ordering a die run. They will only make a minimum of 250kg I think so if enough people want this stuff it will be worth getting more made. At this stage there is only 8 lengths left and they are all on my way to my workshop.
Here's the drawing of the T-track with measurments.

Let me know if your interested, this is really handy stuff for use in Jigs, hold down benches, cnc router beds etc. Once you have some you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

The McJings t-track is half the price of the carbatec stuff. The only difference is the carbatec stuff is Veritas so potentially higher quality.
Anyone tried the McJings or know where they get it from?
A couple of 610 lengths for my drill press table - not quite WIP - unless you count my brain
Thanks
Jason

I have the McJings not used as yet at $10 a length while a friend got the Carba one, I looked at PWS also the dimensions of the tracks are different Carba's are low profile anodised which will wear off. Your not trying to hold down the Titanic are we.
Love the $10 hold down clamps from McJings they are great

Once I factor in postage the $26 probably becomes $34+ anyway so I am deciding to be happy with my purchase - no choice really.
It will be an interesting experience as I have never had to use my dado blades for such accurate dimensions before. Now I will have to get out the spacers, and get the height just right.
Lots of test cuts before I cut into my 32mm MDF sheet
Cheers
Jason

would this work - home made t track
Hello,
Couple of years since original post and was wondering if people had tried any of the ideas or variations shown in attached jpegs.
Any immediately obvious problems with these do it yourself ideas ?
I am cash poor and time rich so am prepared to undergo some hassle to avoid opening wallet.
I saw sail track at Bunnings yesterday - $14ish for 3 metres but the track takes a cylindrical object - whats the most practical way to make use of that ?
Just ignore the fact that it is cylindrical ans use ordinary t slot nuts anyway ?
Regards
Bill
