    Default Turpentine table

Got hold of some really old turpentine. It was reclaimed from old piers and has been in Sydney harbour for over 100 years. Have done a bit of research and discovered it comes from an old growth forest that goes back some 500 years. Decided to make a table.
Finished the top and have sanded down to 120. Still more sanding to do. About to put the legs on tomorrow. Attached a WIP pics.

Wonderful colour you've got there, and to have the history behind it will always make the table special.

Well done and watching with interest.

Very nice looking timber. Looking forward to seeing the legs go on.

    Default Turpy table WIP

Photos of turpentine table, now with legs on and first coat of tung oil. Not meant to be a fine piece of furniture, but a rustic table. I'm quite satisifed with the result.
