Type?
Cant for the life of me work out this timber.
Thought it may have been rose wood but then cedar but it's too dense to be cedar but lacks smell for rosewood. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks very much like some Tas Myrtle that I have but I would not bet my house on it.

I'd say red gum. Is it really fine saw dust that comes off it?
