Vacuum press bits in Aus?
hey guys
Just thought i would start this one again as i am trying to find somewhere in aus to get the parts i need to make a vacuume system like this http://www.joewoodworker.com/veneering/EVS/concept.htm without the shipping prices can anyone help?

I ordered most of the small bits from that site and had no problems. the controller was 240v. The shipping wasn't too bad.
I think your question might be about the vacuum pump itself, which would be quite weighty. and i can't help you there. I just asked my grandfather and he had one under the house (no kidding).

I only bought the vacuum controller, the filter (I think) and the Mac valve. Using threaded components adds a lot of cost to the kit, so I didn't use any. Barb "T's" and fittings are cheap at autobarn or cheaper at an industrial sales shop. Just use a pipe clamp over the fitting and if it still leaks, use ample silicone.
I used fuel line hose, which seems to hold its' shape well under vacuum. The car tyre type fittings are a stock item at repco, just take a photo of the part in with you, I got mine at the town markets for $8 from a bloke who sells cheap tools and other rubbish.
I'd see how you go locally and order the rest from JoeWoodworker
