    I half fill the void with a tinted resin of your choice and embed led lights into the edge give that night lite effect

    Could you cover it with a sheet of toughened or laminated glass, or even acrylic.

    what about pouring brass ( then has to me milled)? Have seen a couple on tube, look really something.
