Congratulations SB! A very attractive project. I've been meaning to try one of these for years since I saw one in an antique shop, but all the plans I've seen have looked clumsy and unappealing.

Default Plans and list of materials

OK here is a list of materials and comments but is not the finished instructions.
I used epoxy for all joints and there were no nails or screws except for the hinges. My father reports no joint failure or any other problems over the last 5 months of use but all joints must be good ones especially were the steps are joined to the side leg cut outs. The back slats, seeing they really are not used to support the back as much as a chair with a high back, can be cut straight if you want. I have uploaded the plans again in this post so it is all together.

That's certainly how the story goes (but I tend to adhere to the 'nothing new' principle, so I suspect some anonymous joiner somewhere had made one before, but I will give Ben credit for first claiming it!

Just to close the loop, stumbled across this picture of a chair owned by Benjamin Franklin. He may have designed it, or may not have, but it was clearly in his home at his death.

Not quite the same as the Superbunny version (which is superb, btw). Thanks for the plans and WIP.
