Default WIP, oops, finished work. small table

This was one of those super quick little projects for home to get the DVD player off the plastic storage bin it's been living on since we moved. Didn't want to wast time on it so just used a bit of scrap for a rustic little piece.
Legs are some 75mm thick Camphor that was left over from a table I made last year, top is a piece of 50mm Blackbutt I had laying around. Didn't even trim the top to size, near enough is good enough. The leftovers from the legs will become legs on another super quick coffee table that will appear shortly too.
So no fancy joints just a couple of dowels and some glue on each. A rough sand and some bees wax. Done!! Might have been 2 hours.

A well spent 2 hours I reckon. Amazing result from a few sundry pieces.

    Too small.

Very quick result, I reckon one thing quicker would have been just the slab with a bit of wax.

    Interesting.

As long as it serves the purpose.

I don't know how to describe it - shabby chic or fashionably rustic - but it works and looks good. reckon it'll be there holding the DVD player for a while yet.

You'd think he'd have bought a TV with the DVD player in it would have saved making a table for the DVD player then............oh but hang on where would he mount the bunny ears antenna then

Mark a real quick one for sure and looks brilliant.

Bunny ears look better than my worshop arial, a stick of silver solder, straight as a die protruding from the top shelf
TV? do you need one? is that why I can't get a picture on the damn thing

Nah, much too sophisticated for 'rustic', Claw - dowelled legs!

My old pot would have drilled 4 holes with brace & bit, whittled the tops of the legs with his felling axe, banged 'em in with the back of the axe, & Bob's your aunty. It would have touched the floor on at least 3 feet, with a chock under the 4th to level it. That's rustic.

    Cheers,

That was the other option Ian but the dowels were quicker. I would prefer the pegs.
