    Post Wooden toy wheels

Can anyone please help with a local supplier of wooden wheels for toys, smokestacks, little people etc. I have found several overseas no problem, but the freight is exorbitant. I am looking to purchase in large quantities. Thanks in advance!!
btw, wheels approx dia: 2.5 in, 1 in and 1.5 in

    Try Carba-tec www.carbatec.com.au or timbecon.com.au

I recently made some toys for my nephews that required wheels and I found some mdf discs at Spotlight that are used for teddy bear joints .. I just glued these together for the desired thickness and they come with pre drilled centre holes that may need widening depending on the thickness of dowel you put them on.

This is not necessarily the most cost effective method of doing the wheels, I will have to look into other ways the next time I make something

Yoy say the freight in too expensive, which country and how are you shpping, we used to import from the USA and used US MaIL AND FOUND THEY WERE QUITE REASONABLE. upper case off, bugger.
If you are using UPS or similar its going to cost far too much.
Also use your search engine to source a supply in Asia or India.

Thank you all for your prompt replies. I only mentioned the freight because different manufacturers costs vary from 15% per order to 50%....even 100% !! Again, thanks.

Pretty sure that the bigger Lincraft stores have them so do some of the better art and craft supplies shops.

Have you tried a Canadian supplier??
I get mine here . Usually get around a 1000 wheels & axles of different sizes every year from them.Wheels
There seconds are about $8cdn per 100 wheels. There is about 3 cents difference in our $'s
