I tend to agree with Steve Ramsey though. You need to put more of yourself into the video. You are one of the selling points and you need to put your personality on show as much as the process and product.

I'm sure he will as he progresses in making them Don . It's great how each YouTube maker has and develops on his own unique style isn't it?

Steve Ramsay - Mr FULL ON
    Wood Whisperer - Mr Cool
Frank Howarth - Captain Amazing (How does he come up with those ideas? and those stop motions????)
The Wood Knight - Love his humble but engaging approach.

    And so on......

    Nice job and nice video.
I love that you are going to talk in metric and not require thousands of dollars of tools.

Huge fan of Frank's videos, no matter what the content is they're always interesting to watch.

I like Jay Bates as well for his high production quality and down to earth approach.

Be very careful Simon. You could end up 30 years down the track like Derek (and others on this forum) with rooms full of hand tools and an addiction that is impossible to manage.

    Cool video.

You're doing really good view wise considering the size of your channel, I'd keep going. Have a look in your analytics, and audience retention, you'll see where people start clicking off. I'd fast forward a few of the scenes more, so you can see what's happening, but the itchy watcher doesn't skip as much.

This is one of mine (but I don't have that many woodworking videos):

    I'm happy to help

Best advice I can offer is show the video to somebody who doesn't care too much about what you're doing, and ask them when they are getting bored. The bored point is when you need to cut to something more interesting/speed it up beforehand, etc.

    HI Simon
I enjoyed your video.... Great work both the table and the video, what's up next !
If you have the intension of using wooden palettes, have a look at the plans for making a pallet breaker its a lot easer than braking them down with just pinch bar and hammer let me know what you think.

Thanks all for the comments, the video is now over 20,000 views!!!! There are some pretty funny comments about my 'basic DIY tools' haha. I have heaps of plans to make more this year, I've decided to make a real go of it and am getting website, downloadable plans etc ready before I release any more. I'll be sure to keep you all in the loop!

I was doing a vanity search (sort of. I'm Paul/The Wood Knight). Here's my list of AU woodworkers on youtube (now adding Simon!)

    Pask Makes https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNy...6CQvaRVEvItxkA
    DownUnder WoodWorks https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ7...c5xEotSYMmkKEw
    Woodworking Master Class https://www.youtube.com/user/woodmasterclass
    Jords Woodshop https://www.youtube.com/user/JordsWoodShop
    David Stanton https://www.youtube.com/user/Davesbuildtips
    Roger Webb https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVb...zc6j7_VYQjwxYQ
Warren Downes - One Wood https://www.youtube.com/user/onewoodtools
    Brendan Stemp - https://www.youtube.com/user/BrendanStemp
    Andrew Jones https://www.youtube.com/user/andii1701
    KingPost Timberworks https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMw...R6JmDgdWkio2kA
    Wesley Inglis https://www.youtube.com/user/W3SL3Y161
    Mario Cappellano https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxy...JnaIrrxzlw7OEA
    Timber Tricks https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtE...4u7Yfau76JGs3g
    WIGWOOD https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf9...eeG_Gnf01jKcSg
    Saltwood Designs https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXb...1OxVwdP1LFzokw
    Mark Susak https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4V...NG5rhABB3JhsIQ

I'm not sure its complete, just what I could find. As one of the larger (with Jord switching to just VLOGs, am I the largest? Thats a terrifying thought!) channels, I'll be trying to highlight AU woodworkers over on my channel "soon". Life keeps getting in the way of shooting those videos though.

Thanks Lappa. It was listed there as Timber Tricks. I changed from Timber Tricks to Kuffys Woodwork because people kept ringing me up thinking I was a timber yard which stocks terribad stuff like MGP10/12 and cement sheet!!!!! Now as Kuffys Woodwork, no one rings me up. Much more betterer
