Picea sitchensis
Hi, Sitka spruce is generally a slow growing softwood of cold northern hemisphere climates. I've seen it growing in NZ but nothing spectacular. Don't know anything about the particular seedlot but probably not much more than a curiosity.

hi stu70, Its just a curiosity more than anything .....you are correct.....thought i'd at least find out how to best get it started in the right conditions....just not sure what they are.....I understand there is some documentation on how to best germinate the seeds....and break them out of dormancy......not sure on the specifics though.......i'b better keep doing the research.....
