Hida has been around as long as anyone in the U.S. going back in its earliest forms and locations to the early 80s. The company did however change hands within the last year, the new owner does go to Japan himself to place orders and a lot of the old staff is still there. This staff is really, and has been the heart of the store, local people providing truly hands on service. I don't work there but I go in frequently and I knew the original owner. It is a small simple store, maybe 12 feet wide, that is just packed floor to ceiling. Alx
