    Default Sketchup Make

I downloaded the program last night and so get the free 30 days of Pro. I followed a few tutorials on the iPad while doing them on the computer and I am liking the program. Is there a big difference re use for furniture design between Make and Pro?

    Cheers Peter

Generally the Sketchup program itself was the same for both versions, but the Pro version includes 2 additional programs Layout and Style Builder. Layout is a program that supposedly makes transporting a 3D view onto paper easier. I have tried it a couple of times and found it is not how I like to work, but I initially thought that about Sketchup, but have adapted to it fairly well. Style Builder is a program for creating styles for use within Sketchup, again depends on what you are doing and need, I haven't stretched myself that far yet.

For the 2015 versions, Pro also included a couple of things that weren't in Make, I believe that one was a rotated rectangle tool which allows you to create a rectangle rotated relative to the axi in a single operation, rather than having to create the rectangle aligned to the axi, and then perform the required rotations with the rotate tool. Doesn't seem to have a companion rotated line tool though which would be more use to me.

Haven't seen the 2016 versions to compare so can't comment, but Trimble may have added additional tools to the Pro version that aren't in Make, or may (but unlikely) have included the 2015 Pro exclusive tools into Make. Depend on their view of what constitutes an update.

Not conclusive but will give you some sort of idea of the differences.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.
