Fuel consumption conversions - mpg - km per litre - litres per 100 km
I'm still getting my head around litres per 100 km. It's one thing I still have trouble with after we went Metric. (from Miles per Gallon)
With low mpg numbers (~15) a change of 1 mpg makes a large difference in the litres per 100 k conversion, but as the mpg number rises, the change in the l/100k conversions gets smaller and smaller.
Hard to see in a conversion table or a calculator where you input 1 vale and have it convert to the other.
So I wrote a visual calculator, where you just drag a slider to change all the converted values on a horizontal gauge.
Convert Miles/Gallon to Kilometers/Liter and Liters/100 Kilometers
Drag the KpL slider and watch the difference in the l/100k value as the consumption rises or falls.
Does this make it easier to visualize the conversion?

Is that US gallons, or Imperial gallons?
Unless I have it wrong, and by my calculations, 10/100 km = 28.24 Mpg (Imperial gallons)

Thank you again "SIR" for another very helpful calculator....from memory I used to multiply 2.74 times kms per litre = MPG in imperial, as I understood MPG heaps better....Cheers, crowie
