    Default Deleting Bookmarks in Firefox

I hope I am not wasting anyone's time with this request, but I need help with Firefox 6.0.2
I can delete bookmarks from the bookmarks toolbar menu, but I simply cannot find a way to delete them from the bookmarks menu. I have a mac and these two different styles of bookmark exist on the mac. The bookmarks menu is just like that found on Windows.
I have searched the Help menu to no avail.
It is probably so easy that it will seem foolish to ask but - I want to delete a heap of old bookmarks and I cannot do it.
    Any help is appreciated

Depending on which version of Firefox. .. click on the Bookmark tab and if you see "organize bookmarks" click on that and you can delete them from there. If you don't see the "Organize" option, click on "Show all bookmarks" and in the next window that opens click on the "Organize" tab on the bookmark toolbar. choose to show all bookmarks and then you can choose and delete the bookmarks you want to get rid of. I don't have your version but I would imagine there will be an option to organize your bookmarks so you can delete them. It may work differently on a Mac though.
    Reality is no background music.

Highlight the bookmark, right mouse-click to display the pop-up submenu. There is a Delete option there on my Firefox.

    Thanks everyone.
John was right. The delete function was hiding under the Show all bookmarks menu.
I now have a much lighter bookmark section.
    Much appreciated

    Thanks Jennifer.
Yes that is what I am used to doing in Windows, but it won't work for me on the Mac.
    Appreciated
