    Default Google Chrome out!

Finally got rid of Google Chrome, too many instances of "page not responding". It was also infected with Search.Babylon.com that I was unable to fix.

Gone back to Firefox. It seems to load up a lot faster without hanging for minutes.

Anyone else had problems with Google Chrome or Search.Babylon.com?

    Ken

I have been using Google chrome for quiet sometime along with Firefox (depending on what Site i visit) without any 3rd pary search engines installed. Im pretty sure this isnt included in the browser install but actually some spyware installed on your pc that may have been using Chrome and not firefox. Firefox actually uses a much larger memory footprint than Chrome. If Chrome is updated it doesnt have those annoying errors anymore.

All down to personal preference i guess

    I've got Chrome installed.

    I always, ALWAYS use Firefox.

No difference in page load speed I can notice (although FF seems faster, contrary to popular belief). Memory footprint, who cares? I've set it to load into a 1Gb block of system RAM, and no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to clog that up.

(40+ tabs in 2 separate windows with a Youtube vid running, all at the same time. I try hard!)

And, well, Chrome on my Win8 desktop version looks like Win95 graphics. FF looks like it was meant to be there.

Yes, personal preference. I'd be nuts to use Chrome over FF though.

(I keep Chrome because sometimes you need to use something other than FF, and I still can't bring myself to actually use MS Explorer for anything more than downloading FF/Chrome.)

    Stu.

(I even use FF on my Android phone. Nicer there too...)

The reason Chrome beats FF is because it runs each tab in a different thread, which means that if one tab stuffs up, it won't affect everything else.

Personally I like Chrome, the dev tools #### all over any other browser and it renders things properly according to standards. Because my partner and I share a home computer, we've opted to use separate browsers so that we're not tripping over each other and can stay logged in to the same site. I regularly have to restart her instance of FF because it slowly chews up memory till the computer slows.

Yeah i agree. If ff keeps within its memory usage it's fine but it's when it starts leaking memory it really starts chewing. I just use both depending what pc I'm using.
