Because they finally realised how much Apple make from selling apps and music and figured they'd have a go, it also has the same store for Windows 10 Mobile. I find the phone version of 10 nicer than the computer version but it still has no decent apps.

Woke up this morning to find Win10 installed on my Win8 laptop - two Win7 have been left alone. Declined the terms and conditions and Win8 was reinstalled. Took about an hour of wasted time with me having to go through network reconnections, confirming info, and getting a code from Microsoft. PITA!!!!

This could explain things and how W10 gets installed when not wanted

Microsoft uses malware tactics to foist Windows 10 on more PCs

After reinstalling Win8 I found another dirty trick. I have chosen to be notified when upgrades are available and not just automatically installed. Notification usually breaks the upgrades into two groups mandatory/recommended and optional (can't remember the correct words used). I suspect like most people using this option I just select install as this installs the mandatory/recommended ones only. To install the optional ones you have to select which ones you want to install. Microsoft places the Win10 upgrade in the optional section BUT selects it. So when you choose the mandatory ones it sweeps up the selected Win10 one as well. No happy Jan!

I got cought out by MS this week to & now have W10 on my laptop. I didn't want it because I have a USB GPS receiver that I use with topo mapping when I'm out 4 wheel driving, which wasn't compatible with W10. I have found W10 drivers that were released a couple of weeks ago. Not being a computer expert, I'm going to have to take it to someone to get sorted, or maybe microsoft will send someone round to my place to do it.

In a couple of previous posts, the method of removal is outlined. Fortunately, I was able to stop it when it attempted to load
