You'll find this is the best update for Windows security -

    http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

And the problem you might be having is that KB944338 is for Windows 2000 according to the MS web site. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...n#Requirements

Failing that; download Firefox, and add the Ad Block Pro and No Script plug-ins. No ads, no scripts running without your permission.

Let me know where you are having problems, and I'll see what I can do to help. I work for the company.

MasterSplinter, there are versions of that update for different OS platforms. Here is the XP link:

Are you anti-PC/Windows tossers going to pop your heads up every time someone posts a Windows question? All you're doing is reinforcing the impression most people already have of you. You're worse than door-knocking religious types.

I think people whose only contribution to a WOODWORKING forum is to constantly bleat about how wonderful Macintosh is should be banned for life, or at the very least receive a boot up the asre.

after downloading and installing the latest service pack 3 updates my pc had a mind of its own .....I could not even view a simple picture file, using system restore point was the only option that worked so far ....now its fine ..
