Internet outage
I'm really peeded of with Telstra, three times this month, (twice this week), the internet has dropped off overnight.
That means no TV, no phone, no computer. Telstra don't hesitate to wack $15 onto my bill if I'm a day late paying but there's no compensation for loss of signal.
Does anyone here work for Telstra and know what's going on?
Not happy Jan

Mine has been up and down like a yoyo since jan 1st. Truly frustrating. I had assumed it was just me but maybe their whole network is shot... I just keep logging complaints every time but of course it takes a good half hour to do that...half of which your waiting in teh queue the other half answering stupid set questions.

Not really an on topic reply but still to rant.
Enrolled with Telstra for nbn when I got back from the US end of December. They booked an appointment with one of their technicians (after the nbn technician had activated the line) 3 times with no technician showing up. "Technical issue" it was. They never called me to let me know no technician would come. In the end, and many hours on the phone, I cancelled and went with iinet. No need of technician, quite easy, and it is working very well, thank you. Asked telstra for compensation. Still waiting.

At this time last year, I had an issue with Telstra which went on for 6 weeks. I eventually wrote to their CEO, Andrew Penn. setting out the calls that I had made and the promises made and not kept. I gave them 14 days to fix the problem or I would refer it to the Telecommunications Ombudsman. Two days later, I had a call from a lady in his office saying that she had been given the job of sorting things out and the problem was resolved there and then.

Bloody hell, the internet went off again yesterday, back on now. Rang Telstra who told me the internet had been restored, not so. They referred me to an overseas call centre, what a joke.
I could not understand what they were talking about, in frustation I yelled "fix it" and hung up.
Chris you say Have a look here...https://outages.telstra.com, not much good if you can't use your computer

Just had a quick look at Outages.telstra.... LOVE the way you need to enter an address rather than it being a list of all current outages...although that would possibly be a long list

The Telstra outages page is a joke. Instead of telling me where they are having a problem they try to bluff their way through by having me do troubleshooting. As has been said, all this without a connection. Has happened to me four times in the past week. Come Monday I will be ringing them demanding a four day reduction in charges. They have done this before so hit them up. This is assuming I have a working phone on Monday.

I'm with iiNet and had issues over the first 2 weeks of 2018. According to their website, there were issues between the underwater link from Sydney and Hong Kong. So it took some time for the fault to be located and fixed. Been ok all this week, fingers cross the issue is fixed.
