    Default Net & Phone

In light of Sprits thread re BBand and Phone deals

In choosing a broadband account first look at your present usage, then multiply it x10 why cause now you have speed to burn you going to do more.

Not just your surfing but also your downloads this includes PDF's (ie Carba-techs latest catalouge is 45meg), photo's many are now on other than WWF, 2.5meg up to 10 meg, music, video/youtube (these download and are included in your use).

Your e-mails are inlcued in your download amount and attachments some video attachments from friends are 6 meg alone, then if you forward that to 10 people thats 60 meg. With Bigpond especially every web page visited, pop up, auto refresh adds to your usage. Bigpond is in conjunction with Foxtel they use their server if Foxtel goes down Bigpond goes down regardless of having Foxtel or not.

Then think about your downloads for Windows monthly Updates can be from 2meg to if you do a re-install 300meg and Security patches Nortons etc can be as large as 150 meg a month.

On-line Games I don't use but I believe its intense stuff.

    Home phones

So you like the idea of a walk about mobile style phone at home I do to.
They don't tell you if the power goes out you don't have phone access at all.
How did I find out I was out in the garage, power went out so tried to ring LOML good job I also take the mobile out there.

BUT DO NOT GET RID OF at least one normal Telstra style plug into the wall phone and leave it plugged in for emergencies. If someone cuts power to your house you'll still have a phone to use. Or you can use your mobile.
