PDF files
I have just noticed that PDF file attached to an email will not open. This has not been a problem until recently. I am using Win 10. Please be gentle...

Hi Jim
are you sure it's a PDF file and not a trojan horse.
i.e. is the file from a reputable source?
were you semi expecting to receive it?
after that check, my first guess is that your PDF reader is out of date or needs re-registering.
Try going to Adobe: Creative, marketing and document management solutions and down load and install the latest version of the PDF readerregards from Alberta, Canada

As Ian said its also possible virus scan has done its job and quarantined the file.

When I installed Windows 10 (well MS decided to automatically do it one day after I had been clicking "no" for months) I couldn't open any files received via email as they were "not from a trusted source". I saved the attachment and then right-clicked and somewhere there was an option to "trust source" which then allowed me to open it.

Have you installed a PDF reader, I am sure there is none in WIN10 and it needs to be downloaded.

As above. No PDF reader is included with windows 10. Microsoft want you to use their browser as a reader. I can highly recommend foxit reader over adobe reader because the latest version does have trouble with earlier created PDF and foxit reader is quicker opening PDF. One caveat with installing foxit, choose custom install and unpick the free trial and other crapware
