Reading CAD programs
Does anyone know of or use a program (preferably free) that allows you to open CAD drawings and take your own measurements from it? I have a job at the moment where dimensions are lacking and the architects are based in Brazil so there is some delay between needing dimensions and actually getting them back. The drawings are in DWG format and I need to be able to get dimensions between walls and dimensions off grid.

Yep. DWG TrueView from Autodesk. Use it all the time.

DraftSight is a free AutoCAD clone by Dassault Systemes.
It just needs an email address to activate it.
