Default Samsung galaxy mobile phone problems

Just bought a Samsung J5 Prime mobile phone.
To do a screen shot is supposed to be "home button and power button" press and hold.
That doesn't work. It just brings up google.
Anyone know what I have done wrong and even better how to fix it.
    Thanks in advance.

I've had galaxys for a while. You swipe the edge of your hand across the screen from left to right... think karate chop the left edge of the screen but swipe the hand to the right instead of hitting it....

Home and Power should still work. The swipe won't work on this model (I downloaded the manual). It can take a bit of practice to get the screen shot to work. You have to press both buttons simultaneously. If you hit the home button a fraction early and hold it it will take you somewhere else (sounds like yours is set to Google) mine now takes me to the Google (Voice Activated) Assistant.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Thanks. Got it. I had been trying but couldn't get it.
    Practice has been successful.
    Finally got it to work.
    Thanks.

The secret to get a screen shot with a Samsung Galaxy phone is to click the two buttons simultaneously, and hold for a few seconds until you hear the "shutter" and see the screen pulse.
Its the "hold" which is the real secret.
One gets the hang of it soon enough.
