Select bundle, then select colour. Should let you add to cart after that.

No, I've done that a gazillion times. I can't even select a different pic from the 6 on the left of the main pic, but I can do everything on the other model. There must be something wrong with the particular page.

I was able to select bundle and colour and it added it to my cart.

For the Mi 8? Beats me, I still can't using either Chrome or FF, but I can add the Mi 4 (or something) and select pics and bundle.

Stock is fine: 707 pieces left, and it was like that even before they went on sale.

This link just doesn't work for me:

At Chris Parks' suggestion I tried using MS Edge, and now it works. Bloody weird (one page in the store works, but another doesn't in FireFox). Anyhoo, there seems to be a way through.

I doubt that I need any more than 64Gb storage at this point (as I don't have any data built up on a previous smartphone). The other thing I wonder about is how much RAM I need, again given that I haven't had one before. I will not be playing any games on it, so I don't need processing power for that. Maybe 4Gb RAM would be plenty rather than going up to 6Gb. Same deal for the processor Snapdragon 636 may well be enough compared to S 835 for a newbie. Camera resolutions will vary too, but that's ok - I use a separate camera (although that may change).

Anyone have any comments on that please?

    Some other questions:
What is NFC (only the Mi 8 seems to have it)? Edit: Near Field Contact for transferring data from one phone to another.
They talk about "Global Versions" but others just say "Original Version". Is that something to watch out for - like the Global is the only one that will work here or summink?
Some - like the Note 5 - show a stylus, but don't mention it. I assume that can be used on the screen?

The Mi 6X looks like a good in-between the Note5 and the Mi 8 at US$250, but it doesn't seem to be available in the Global Version (does it matter?).

Not quite understanding the difference between the Redmi range and the Mi range.

On processor, I'd check what the power consumption/savings are between them. The Note 4x and my 5s get roughly the same battery life notwithstanding the 4x's bigger battery. Camera was better too, so both of those points were important to me, you need to have a quick read and see what you can find and decide what matters to you. gsmarena.com is a good place to start.

Other than that, 64 GB has been fine for me, though I did last week copy a bunch of photos to pc to clear space. I can't add a second SD card, but you can on the notes.

I'm starting to think the AliExpress don't want to sell me anything.

Katoomba is not on their approved list of "cities" and I sure don't want to send anything to Kempsey. I have submitted to their survey to add Katoomba, but I don't see that as happening anytime soon.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and knows how to get around it?

I hear Kempsey has a wonderful climate very suited to woodworking . It sounds to me like you're not meant to have this phone...

I just entered Katoomba as the second line of address, and bugger me if they don't have Blue Mountains as a city (which it is). So order placed for the Mi 8 which should be here in about a month I guess.

I was very nearly going to get a 20,000mAh power bank (with USB C ports) but will wait a little while.

Thanks to all for your contributions!
