    Default Trouble with graphics card

I'm wanting to do a fair bit of video editing so I bought a new graphics card, Geforce GTX 750ti.
After some initial problems after installing (thanks for your help Cliff) I got it up and running. I'm running two monitors, a primary and a secondary. With the old graphics card the whole boot up sequence was displayed on the primary monitor. However with the new graphics card the inital boot sequence is displayed on the secondary monitor and the Windows screen then appears on the primary monitor. If I unplug the secondary monitor from the PC the entire boot sequence is displayed on the primary monitor. I checked the BIOS and there was nothing to change there. After a bit of research on the web it looks like it is an issue with the graphics card.
Anyone got one of these cards running a multi monitor setup?

Hi GJ, I'm running a GTX750 with two monitors. I have no idea what is displayed during the boot up sequence. I never shut it down.
I'll send this then shut down to see what happens.
Do you have the NVIDIA Control Panel. Pretty sure it came with the card software.
You can find it in Control Panel under Hardware and Sound

What NCArcher said ...... look for the Nvidia Control Panel. The Nvidia Control Panel software is was supplied on the DVD that came with your video card. Even if you're using the video driver supplied by Microsoft, you should still install the Control Panel software from the DVD, and include the DVD's video driver if it a newer version that the one that Microsoft installed automatically.

Just rebooted, in the name of scientific discovery. Initial Windows sequence displayed on Secondary, Primary monitor initialised and boot sequence completed on Primary.
I think the card just assigns an output as the default driver and kicks off on that output. Once it gets going it assigns Primary and Secondary as per your settings then transfers remaining actions to the Primary.
Not that it matters but if it bothers you, swap the plugs around and reassign the monitors then all initial operations will be on your designated Primary.

The GTX 750 is pretty good. I can run four instances of a video hungry online game simultaneously. Mind you controlling four separate characters at once can be a challenge. Fun though.

Roy, Nvidia Control Panel only sets up primary, secondary etc and what their relation is to each other, i.e. do you move the mouse to the left to go from primary to secondary screen (or vise versa). The control panel has no effect whatsoever on the boot sequence of the monitors.

This issue has created a fair bit of discussion on various forums.

    Assuming Windows 10 -

    1. On the Windows background right click and select Display Settings
    2. Under Multiple Displays select extend these displays (you may need to apply at this time)
    3. Select the display you want as your primary using the "Make this my main display" check box
    4. Select Apply

If you do not see two monitors then you have a problem.

Make sure you load the latest adapter drivers.
