    Is it possible to tell who owns a website? I have done some searches but have only found out of date information, or I think it is out of date.

    If by own, you mean who owns the domain name, the answer is yes and no. You can do a search at any decent domain provider (e.g., godaddy.com) and if the name is taken, you can search who the contact (owner) is for that site.

    BUT . . . if the owner subscribes to a privacy service, you will only get the name of the service and they will forward any messages to the owner.
