Default Admin sanctioned, GROUP BUY mostly 25% off HNT Gordon planes, vises, holdfasts

Announcing a Group Buy of HNT Gordon planes, vises & dogs, mallets, and Gramercy Holdfasts. This has been approved by Admin.

WEBSITE: https://hntgordon.com.au/ Use the "SHOP" dropdown to get to planes.

CLOSE OFF DATE: Sunday 1st July 2018

TO PLACE ORDERS (and ask questions): send me an email by clicking on my user name (at the top of this post), and then "Send Email"
Please do not use the forum PM system.
Enquiries should NOT be directed to HNT Gordon.

DELIVERY: is expected to be mid-July depending upon the amount of orders placed. Moving Fillister planes may be longer. It is very likely that I will pick up the order from Terry at the Sydney Woodshow (20th July) and will then do the posting out.

OVERSEAS ORDERS: are welcome. The 10% Australian Goods & Services Tax (GST) is not applicable to exported goods but Terry Gordon uses the same prices (inc GST) and offsets that against some of the international postage costs. Please email me for more information.

    What is on offer:
10% off Moving Fillister Planes (standard Gidgee only) Delivery on these may be towards the end of August, depending on orders.
25% off all other Planes, (standard Gidgee only). Note: Special Timbers, Kit Planes, and Bargain Planes are NOT included.
    25% off replacement/additional blades
25% off Ironwood Mallets (no Gidgee) and Caulking Mallets (only 3 in stock - discontinued)
25% off Tail Vises and Dogs (and note that Tail Vises are available in 100mm and 150mm travel)
15% off Face Vises and note below*
25% off Gramercy Holdfasts (but these will be supplied directly by Colen Clenton, and we need 10 pairs to qualify)

    * The Face Vise is now also available with an extra wide face (340mm) which is an additional $40 retail (so $34 in this GB price). There are 3 of these in stock, so if more than that are ordered there will be a longer lead time.

    NOT INCLUDED:
    Colen Clenton Tools
    Stones
    Aprons
    Special Timber Planes
    Kit Planes
    Bargain Planes

This Group Buy is in no way associated with the Woodwork Forums or its owner and Administration Team.

There seems to be an issue with the HNT site. Difficult to decide if I am in in the offer without seeing some of the items.

Oh no. I was thinking of getting a few planes later in the year - I might move those plans forward... RIP my wallet.

Can't you just open it rather than ripping it?

Yep and here’s me thinking I didn’t really “need” anything right now. Oh well, can’t take it with you.

Edit: anyone interested in hitting the order requirement for the holdfasts? I could use a couple more.

But is the best the A55 'Western' style or the Asian style?

I have several of the Asian style, thinking of the A55's. Opinions?

    Rob and Alkahestic

Like so many things in life it is a matter of personal preference. The advantage of the "Asian" style is that it can be pushed or pulled, but if you have become accustomed to Western style planes the A55 may be the way to go. The Asian style can also be used very easily in conjunction with a shooting board as the handle is removable or can be left "poking" out one side providing a long handle for that purpose.
