Default British Seagulls and old wooden boats

    G'day, all
Reckon the subject of British Seagull outboards doesn't come up too often in the woodwork forums, but I know for a fact there's plenty of guys building wooden boats and what better old motor to pu on them than a classic old Seagull!

I'm equally certain there's a few wood butchers out ther with a dusty old Seagull in the back of the shed. Well, now's the time to dust them off, give them a bit of spit and polish, and trot them out on the back of that ubeaut new wooden dinghy you've just built!

A few of us loonies...err...Seagull enthusiasts, realised that, compared to NZ and UK there was NOTHING happening in Oz in the way of 'Seagull-related' events or activities. So we determined to 'do something' about it.

What we've done is organise an email group that anyone can be a member of, and we've organised an Inaugural Aussie Seagullers Gathering, for 2nd-6th January 2012 at Myall Lakes in NSW (just north of Newcastle).

Anyone interested in either concept, or just want to say g'day to another Seagull owner, drop me a line at [email protected]
    Cheers

Seagull Boat Motors,- Know where there's at least one, maybe two,- in a friend's secondhand shop, err, " shed, " located in Minlaton, Southern Yorke Peinsula, S.A.
There's all sorts of interesting things there,- old hand tools; old furniture; old implement wheels; old magazines; Boat bits, & pieces, and, " God only knows," what else. His name is, Neil Sparrow, known to all, & sundry as, " Spog. " Used to be the local Dump Contractor for about 20 years, result anything someone threw out during those 20 years that was vaguely useable,- endded up in his yard,- result nowadays, " Spog," has two 60 x 30ft sheds, chock-a-block full, plus a yard full as well, therefore if anyone is seeking a," Gizmo," for a " whatsit," Neil is the guy to ask. Yes, he's open to any reasonable offer, plus swap, barter, or whatever.
