Just getting into woodwork and I was all set to visit the TWW show last year until I was struck down with gastro for the weekend.

So I see this mini show and figure it will be a good day, but today the car's fan dies and I'm not willing to risk driving it all the way to Braeside.

    I'm cursed!
Where are you? Maybe someone near you is headed over there tomorrow.

I'm in Croydon, but it will be a bit hard to organise a lift. My timing depends too much on a baby and a toddler and nap times, etc. Also, part of the deal was that I would take the toddler with me to give my wife a half break.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.

There's also the slight possibility I'll have borrowed a friend's car too.

Maybe if this is a financial succesfull weekend for the organizers then they might be persuaded to do this again in say 3 months time. Sort of in between now and the next WWW show.

I'm blessed in that I don't suffer that problem; I just have to look longingly at something and TBO pulls out the Plastic Fantastic. She was running in and out to the car with everything from a drill press table kit to an 8" grinding stone and face mask.

She even drove me up to Mathews Timber where I procured some beautiful English Brown Oak for a Georgian side table I'm planning.

We probably won't be eating for a month though.

Many thanks Wanita for supplying the door prizes over the weekend open days. I was lucky enough to win first prize and am now the proud owner of a 10" Linblade sawblade for my sliding compound mitre saw. Good to catch up with Jim & Neil also.

I hope the weekend was a success for all the participants and we will see more of these in the future.

I think it went well for all concerned.

It was even better to put a few faces to names on the forum.

The weather did not deter too many people and having the barby and somewhere to sit helped everyone stay a little bit longer and catch up with everyone.

We all worked in well together and I would assume we could do this again sometime but not too soon maybe like this one now and then there is the Melbourne wood show later in the year would be enough to cater to most peoples needs.

There is also the regional shows that we attend to cater for all the others that were not able to be there on the weekend.

Did notice guys from warragul, Sale, Colac, Geelong, Bendigo and Ballarat so a fair spread was covered.
