I have to bleat ignorance. Any offers...some of the prices on fleabay are rather ridiculous, as in $10 for some editions. In the end it is what is it worth to you.

I have been moved by some of the comments posted by people on the forum and intend to write Frank's story with pictures in due course.
This was his work, ie his professional training, being seconded during the war to make some special components for aircraft. He was a very private person, and did not readily speak about his passion....he just did it.

As for fleabay well I can say that the world wide interest on a collection complete of these would be priceless to a real collector especially in mint condition. But at $10 a mag I'll have to pass x 200 LOML would have a fit.
The other interesting series is the Workshop series I see one or two on the table are there more?

The car manuals well $50 isn't unheard of and thats in conditions way worse than I see these in.

Would love to be there if only it was closer. Good luck, anyway.

Borys thats a great read whom ever ends up with that lathe will be the proud own if shown that story/history. I still believe this is worthy of an association taking historical matters into hand and out laying to purchase lock stock and all history like this doesn't come our way often and it should be preserved at all costs not locked away as some governments and museums do.

Ps Is there any chance of seeing some of his creations for us who can not make this weekend.

This is work of a master tradesman a true engineer his family should be proud.

I have done some digging his magazine collection only scratched the surface of Model Engineer but as they began around 1900 he would be forgiven for not having all 1624 issues

I believe the hours he spent away from his family creating his master pieces would have been quite a bit of time. I hope they are proud of his efforts.

I fancy it would be useful for insurance purposes as well.

Have a look at "Data Crow". Is free, configurable and has a good support network. Otherwise a simple spreadsheet or word table will do the trick. Also easily converted into a webpage!

Given the connection to QLD History have you contacted the QLD Museum to see if they are interested at all? A friend's grand father passed away who was an avid collector of old radios, wax rolls etc and had a rather awesome collection. The QLD Museum bought about 80% of it at fair market value.

That is of course if there's anything else left after the open house sale.
