Borys this must be very hard task your doing. Its a fine collection and as you said very large. The Model Engineer magazines amazing to see they are in such good condition as well as all the others.
I am waiting like the rest I guess to see the machines all those tools were for and used on for me more from love of old tools and the master tradesmans care and love shown in the way they would have been used.
Pity your having to sell them and not keep it all in the family.

Better check the contents of that Roach Rid bottle, it looks pretty old and it may not be legal any more

Hands Full and up to the eyeballs!
Don't know what I've done wrong, but not many responses. Have only advertised on the forum so that the benefit of Frank's lifetime of work could be shared among other people passionate about the craft and appreciative of good tooling.
Not may responses, a bit disappointed I must say.
Last thing I want to do is to go to fleabay or the Sunday market. I am a woodworker, otherwise the majority of this would go to my shed in maleny,\.
I don't mind if people don't spend a fortune here, but at least come and have a look!
Cheers
Borys

Could be waiting for sale on weekend Borys. I will also bump the thread in metal workers forum.
Shame I am in Vic at the moment, I certainly would have come to have a look.
Good luck with it, certainly looks like heaps of interesting stuff.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Borys after seeing the posting of the lathe and reading the story behind it this collection should be kept together honestly their is a life story here i wish I had the $$ to buy the lot it shouldn't be split up.
Much of it should be pt on display the work of art in building that lathe many would die to have just a portion.
Just sent you an sms.

BETTER TO HAVE TOOLS YOU DON'T NEED THAN TO NEED TOOLS YOU DON'T HAVE

Yes,intend to post smaller items, but am flat out just sorting just now. You can see how many individual items there are.
It might be easier if you give me a list of what you are after, then I can see what I can put together.
Cheers

I admire you
Well done Borys, you are indeed an honourable son in law. I'd say he would be proud of you and very grateful.
I see this whole situation as a timely reminder.
As the clock ticks and the grave beckons, I'd hate for any poor sod to have to sort out my workshop and collection.
Time to get things in order and under control.
How easy it is the have thousands of dollars tied up in tools etc. and only the owner really understanding what they're all about and I don't have a Borys to sort it after I go
Thank you for the lesson AA

Thanks for your moral support, and kind words
Ah, the ticking clock, AA, I have determined that my "poor Sod" is not going to go through this process.
Am going to use the wonders of modern technology to create an inventory consisting of three main headings, what it is called, what it is used for, and what I paid for it. Each item to have a photo as well. Will probably get a shock when it is all added up!
Will start investigating software etc to do this. Has anyone undertaken such a task?
Cheers
Borys
I fancy it would be useful for insurance purposes as well.

It's rather sad looking over someone's treasures- a lifetime of accumulation, and a tough job to prepare for the sale. I'm sorry I can't browse due to distance. Good luck for the sale!
