5th April 2007, 12:04 PM #48WHAT A LOAD OF DRIVEL...... NO, MINDLESS DRIVEL.
iF IT'S MINDLESS, PATHETIC AND SOUNDS LIKE IT COMES FROM A LITTLE SCHOOL KID, IT'S DRIVEL. SEE THE EXAMPLE TYPED IN BLACK ABOVE
DON"T PUSH IT
Personally, I don't really care about the drivel forum, I probably wont ever go in there. I just want to know how this affects the main forums and whether I have to watch myself now. Judging by your response to my post above, I guess the answer to that is yes. So now it's up to me to decide if I want to hang around any more and for you to decide if you want to tolerate me.

I just talked to the wife about this. She knew straight away what you're on about Neil, except she calls it "dribbling sh..". Apparently I'm just being pedantic, so there you go, no surprise there. She has a way with words, my wife.
Anyway life's too short to get hung up on stuff like this. I'll keep logging on and doing what I have done up to now until someone boots me out...

Whatthehellhappened??? I posted a second reasonable response to this thread outlining that Id had pm contact with a mod who sent me links to several posts and a thread with the intent being that he would help me understand what is being done and why... so I posted a response... it was here last night and now its not??? so was that response considered "drivel" by someone and zapped?
Now Im even more flamin confused by all this!! and having read the above with regard to SilentC it was exactly that sort of thing I was concerned about with regard "drivel"... it is subjective... what I may think of as "drivel" some mod wont while what some mod would consider "drivel" I may not...
And thus it can be seen that some galah in outback banana country may well see a post by some nob in the lower left hand corner of the pimple as posting "drivel" while some mod sitting in the church city wont yet another in the middle east coast state will so rather than restricting themselves to just complaining to one mod the galah posts a complaint to all the mods about the same post that the church city based mod veiws as non drivel... and another wally in the small state in the lower easter corner writes a pm to another mod up in the middle state complaining bitterly about the "drivel" while all the mods have already recieved a pm from another nob about the same "drivel" which the mod in the city of churchs has already deemed as not "drivel"... but the mod in far north queensland does see it as "drivel" and a slap and delete is sent out to the offender who has innocently gone on about their business... now maybe that mod in the city of churches has contacted the poster and recommended some modifications to the wording of the post be made before theres an issue made of it but the blokes been at work or not on line for a few days... when he comes back he finds hes been banned!!... because Neil has been called in by another mod and Neil weilded his majik mattock and blam the blokes deemed a "driveller"... but hes not even been there since he posted the damned post thats caused the issues!!
meanwhile some galah in the far west posts another post to another thread that is seen by some wombat in the tropics or far reaches of outta kentucky or upper alaska as mmm maybe close to being "drivel" but meanwhile a numnut in the UK sees the same post and complains to the mod in toowoomba who then has to respond and go adjudge the said post by the manic poster in the west while also trying to wrangle with another complaint in another forum thread that another mod is a bit too close to so needs a second opinion finally bringing Neil himself in to try to sort it all out ... and so on can you see this becoming a problem?
Truely a can of worms that will probably lead to far more "work" and subsequently less enjoyment for wither the mods or admin than they thought possible when they first considered this stand.
Anyway... as the daughters say... "whatever"Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Wasn't a mod that deleted it Ding - it came from a much higher authority.
And not all posts are deleted because of drivel content, there are plenty of other things that will cause a post to be deleted, and not one will necessarily also result in an explanation.
(No - I am certainly not a "much higher authority" btw)"Clear, Ease Springs"

Drivel in my opinion is page after page of stuff like what was happening on the Friday Thread, as like this...Each one a different post.

There were actual posts like this in the Friday Drivel.
Then all the hardcore Friday Drivellers get upset because we told them we dont wont to read this kind of crap anymore.
Some of them gave these kindly words of advise, " well dont read it"

Time out - please
To all concerned, please do not post after this post. This is a request, not a demand.
If you value these forums,
If you can see that we are getting nowhere, though each of us has the best of intentions,
If you can appreciate that people are now backed into corners they do not want to be in,
If what you want is a forum to learn and enjoy,
then please,
let this go at least until after Easter to let things calm down.
I wish you all a Happy Easter.
