Well, I must say the response from here and other places has been quite incredible really. Take for example chisels, there are about 20 or so that need little more than a touch up, then there are about 80 that need flattening and sharpening. There are about 17 bench vices, handsaws a plenty (most need a sharpen, a new skill to learn), Squares, marking gauges, awls, planer knives ( we are trying to make drawknives from these), mallets and mauls, axe heads, you name it we prolly have it. There is even a home engineered manually driven grinding stone.
I'm hoping to get out to Richards on Friday to spend the most of the day sharpening chisels and saws.
The generosity of this wonderful place, and the generosity of others not from here is truely heart lifting.
My sincere thanks to all. I'll try to get some photos on friday and post them here.
Cheers

I spoke to Richard yesterday and have agreed to pick up donations of tools and take them to Manly by the 21st so they can arrive in Brisbane in time to be sent to the island.
I was at the TTTG meeting last night and was given a set of bits and some sharpening stones.
The TTTG is having a display at the Granny Smith Festival on Saturday at Eastwood (11 to 3) and some of the guys will have more stuff for me there.
I personally am sharpening up a few augers and have some stones.
The Strathfield Mens Shed has some stuff which I'll chase up today.
Still chasing spoke shaves, even bits of them as we have some incomplete ones.
I am in Concord and am prepared to drive around early next week so if you have bits, sharpening stones, metal spoke shaves and /or side hatchets or tomahawks send me a pm with a contact number and we'll take it from there.

Nick,
That will be a day late, I want to get it to Manly on the 21st (Wednesday).
What size are the bits?
I was speaking to Richard on Tuesday morning and he said they really want bits over 3/4 inch in diameter.
I did score 6 of this size at the Strathfield MS yesterday.

Hello, Gerard here,
I have 2 x draw knives, several back & hand saws, 3 or 4 stones, a number of chisels & gouges with & without handles, a stack of steel tube to cut into ferrules, a traditional carpenters toolbox and how about 5 litres of dirty sump oil for rust prevention?
I have a ute, I can deliver.
Gerard
PM me to arrange pickup and or delivery

Gerard,
Thanks a lot for the drawknives, I gave them a clean up and a bit of a rub with the stones and they came up ok.
I've turned up handles for the little drawknives I welded up from an old planer blade.
Thanks to TTTG members and the Strathfield Men's Shed I've even managed to get 8 spoke shaves together.
Thanks to all for your support.
