    Default You Turn lives.

Taken from an email received today and posted with permission.

    G'dayFellow Woodgrubs,

I do apologise for taking sooo long to let you know about this year's UTurn.

For those that don't know, the Greyhound Club at Horsham have said NO to UTurn being held there in the future, There was always an issue with us using the kitchen and it finally came to a head in 2012. Consequently, no UTurn was held in 2013.

In the end it was decided that it was too difficult to get a suitable venue in Horsham. The Central & Western Woodworking Group felt that not to hold the UTurn event, after all the work Brendan and Colin had put in, would be a shame. Consequently, Colin and Brendan have handed the UTurn event over to the CWWG. After some considerable investigation the CWWG have decided to hold the event at the Ararat Harness Racing Track over the period 25-28 April.

The format will follow the same as previous UTurn events. Set up will be on the Friday and clean up on the Monday. We are still working on the catering arrangements and accommodation is available at the Acacia Caravan Park. Cabins are $180 per night for four people with linen supplied (this works out to $45 pppn). We have booked six cabins at this stage so I need to know how many attendees require accommodation by Friday the 17th January. There are basic sleeping rooms at the event venue and caravans can be parked there as well. There is also a kitchen and dinning room available at the venue.

Final costing for the event (not including accommodation) will be advised soon. It is expected to be slightly higher.

N.B. I will be on my annual two week flyfishing trip to Tassie from Sat 25th Jan to 9th Feb (incl).

I hope that all previous attendees are keen to participate in UTurn 2014and I look forward to seeing your smiling faces again.

Feel free to forward this email to any person you think may want to attend this event.

    Regards
    Jeff Willey

Terrific. Great to see that you can't keep a good event down. Checking my diary as we speak.

It has taken a lot of work by the Central & Western Woodworking Group committee to get to this stage and there are many of the original UTurn attendees looking forward to participating in UTurn 2014.

It must be acknowledged however, the work that Brendan (and Penny) Stemp, Colin Morell, Billy Norris and others did in formulating the UTurn model for this particular event.

    Default Grampians UTurn. - Update

As a member of the Central & Western Woodworking Group can I advise those considering attending the Grampians UTurn 2014 at Ararat on the 25-28th April, the cut off time for bookings will be Friday 7th March.
For more details or bookings contact Jeff Willey the Groups Sec/Treas, by email at [email protected] or on 03 5447 1449.

The organisers have been working hard and it should be a great weekend with meals catered for, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday and lunch on Monday, with morning and afternoon teas also provided.

Carroll's Woodcraft Supplies and Woodfast Machinery will be in attendance and there will be some wood suppliers also.

I hope to see some WWF members there.
