RRF there was afootball match to celebrate our arrival wow. I preferred the five aircraft fly past we got when we came up to settle 2 FA18's and 3 Glodematsers roaring straight straight overhead. Not to be out done when sitting in our drive way on departing Sydney old residence 2 x 3 flypast of Blackhawks.
Crowie so many on this forum used to invite us to QLD GtG, BWWS and turn fest they thought we were already up here.
Like with any move shopping must be done a trip to Masters today where we were selecting a piece of radiata pine, when a fellow also doing the same returned with one shorter than he required. A conversation ensued and he is well into woodworking his wife into spinning LOL, he didn't know about WWF so enlightened him. Peter his name is same as yours except surname spelt with a K not a C

Big Thanks to Old Croc
Thanks Richard our first visitor and for all you did today. From making the visit arriving at 8isham to then offering to help sort and re-organise the garage storing boxes onto shelves etc I know not many were light.
Turning up with a ute load of camphor had to be a woodies dream some nice pieces in that lot even the straw colour ones take it from me.
Hope the Poms whoop the Wallabies tonight while your there.Last edited by wheelinround; 12th June 2016 at 10:01 AM. Reason: change a word

Hope that everything settles in for you both and you can start to enjoy life in QLD. Glad to have met you and Sue at the Hill last year, and that you had the chance for that trip before it became much longer. Mal
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

For all you NSW guys, Ipswich is the equivalent of Penrith, both in terms of distance from the capital city and socio-economic status of the population. Not unlike Lithgow, an old mining town, narrow streets, but quite hilly. And with a ratbag Mayor.
Some people, my daughter and her partner included, commute daily on the 1 hour drive to Brisbane at 6am to beat the peak hour traffic. For peak hour traffic Brisbane to Ipswich on the way home, think King Georges Road from Homebush to Hurstville at 6pm, but driving directly into the sun. Or the M4 Great Western Highway traffic flow in the morning as cars from the Blue Mountains and western suburbs heading into the City do grid lock regularly.
Ipswich gets bloody cold in winter, talking less that 5 degC on average in winter mornings, got down to minus 4 back in 1985; and gets stinking hot in summer
It is a great place for a base to explore SE Qld, lots of interesting places to visit. The best apple pies in Australia are at an orchard on the eastern outskirts of Stanthorpe, arguably with nearby Applethorpe as the coldest place in Queensland.
And the multitude of beautiful old sandstone buildings in Warwick are amazing, well worth a visitregards,
Dengy

Thanks Malb, Dengy & Gordo.
Its a slow process but we are getting there, between having to organise rooms, garage, shopping, making stuff to make things more user friendly for Sue in the kitchen and laundry, me in the garage. Learning where the various shops are located. Its far from Sydney all in one location.
Then there is the daily airshow our grandkids will love that.
Sorry for little pics but its been a case of when I remember to take the camera out and if I have time. maybe once things take shape and I start doing some work again............well besides what I have been doing already.
