    Default coming to Newcastle

The Woodturners of the Hunter (WOTH) will be hosting a Demonstration by the infamous "" on Saturday 1st June, followed by a hands-on workshop on the Sunday. This is a great chance for all the Hunter Valley (and surrounding) Forumites to meet in person, and be entertained by his unique style.

Cost for non-WOTH members is only $25, including lunch, for the demonstration. The Sunday workshop fee is $35 but places are strictly limited (by the number of lathes!). Bookings are essential for both days.

For further details see the club website -
    http://www.woodturners.org.au/ - for a summary of details
    or
email Paul Brinkley (Publicity Officer) - [email protected] - and he will send you your own special notice containing full details.

Some Forumites have already booked! Hope to see many more there to welcome to the Hunter Valley, although he did have a flying visit to Clarence Town a couple of months ago.

    Cheers

Time is running out to book your place to see demonstrating at the Woodturners of the Hunter this Saturday (1st June). Several forumites have already booked.

A whole day of turning and instruction by plus lunch for just $25 - how's that for value? The day is designed so that there is something for turners of all levels, from those thinking about giving it a go to the more experienced turner.

Anyone who follows the Woodturning Forum would know how knowledgeable is, and that his advice is first class. Here is your chance to meet him in person. I guarantee you won't be disappointed BUT you will be entertained.

For details pm me or email Paul Brinkley (Publicity Officer) - [email protected]

Make sure you have plenty of Chocolate Royals for him and lots of tea served in a fine bone china cup and a heap of white sugar or he might just turn nasty around morning tea time.

Neil, I've just been in to the shop to get real milk. Fortunately 's been here before so I know about his fetish for white sugar AND copious quantities of tea in the requisite bone china cup.

    BUT... forgot about the biscuits.

    Cheers,
    Paul

I just want to say i am looking forward to catching up with on Saturday and watching his demo because as a pen maker and NOT a wood turner ( i have made hundreds of pen but have no idea how to turn anything else) so to see and learn how to do this will be great. I was also looking forward to the workshop on sunday but due to previous commitments (we are heading overseas on sunday) I cannot
go . I look forward to catching up with other forum members on saturday and hope to see as many of you there as possible. Athough not a member of the wood turners of the Hunter YET where the demo is being held i would like to that Paul the woodnut Brinkley for organizing and getting to call in on his way home from Brissie wood show

well done to both of you

    Cheers Ian

Unfortunately, the Sunday workshop has been cancelled due to lack of numbers.

HOWEVER, that provides an alternative opportunity:

A GTG at my place for Hunter Forumites to chat, turn etc etc.

    pm for details if interested

I'll try and give you a bit more notice next time Cam It was very last minute.
The easiest way for you to attend the next one is if you host it.

No worries about the timing - just the way the timber splinters!

Now there is a good idea - host an event - I am (still!!) in the process of sorting out the workshop - once done I may well stock up on bickies and tea/coffee too.
