Sorry for the confusion caused by having 2 active threads open but Fred has kindly cleaned up behind me .... and left a scent trail!
The local Men's Shed have also heard about the event and a delegation may attend to get some advice on using their new Tormek
Im at Camden, south-west Sydney and an easy drive from Canberra and Melbourne (who are having a long weekend JUST to allow people to get to the sharpening GTG )
I'll send directions closer to the date. I'm supplying sausage sandwiches (Tildsleys FAMOUS thin sausages) soft drink, tea and coffee.
Please bring safety glasses if you intend to use the grinders and anything else you may want to eat or drink.
Please bring along anything that you want to sell or swap and a folding chair might be a good idea too.
Im selling off/giving away surplus tools, restoration projects (= old furniture!), stands and lotsa' other stuff.
There will be a custom made door prize!

hi fc,
Newbys are most definitely welcome! Even the most experienced sharpeners tend to have expertise in 1 or 2 techniques and are newbys themselves on many others. Some (= me!) have never sharpened a turning tool but I'm a pretty dab hand on chisels and drills. Please come!

Its a shame the Master Turning tool demonstrator will be absent so many of us could have done with his expertise. Being he is going to Skype in from other side of the continent maybe Master tool sharpener could produce a video before hand so Fletty could show it at the GtG. One on how to grind an 3mm bowl gouge would be great free hand please prefer to do mine that way.
Fletty as mentioned still unsure as to attendance a possible maybe is best I can do at this stage.
