The Shed is no more
Well guys and gals, its over.
Just about everything is gone from the shed.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all who spent their hard-earned on my machinery and tools and I hope you've been satisfied with the stuff and your dealings with me during the sell-up and since I've been a member.
Being a part of the Ubeaut sponsored forum has been a wonderful journey of learning and camaraderie that I've not experienced in other other aspect of my life to date. I thank Neil and his team of Mods for their diligent work keeping this the pre-eminent woodworkers forum.
I'm very sad that its come to this but at least I still have my 2 feet above the ground which hasn't been the case, sadly, for some of our fellow forumites.
I know that the tools I've sold will get used well and result in some truly amazing woodwork.
I have my appointment (at last) on Tuesday next with a neurosurgeon and I have my fingers crossed that something can be done to fix my crapped out spine. If not, I'll be using some of the sale proceeds to buy a tinny and outboard and will be spending a bit of time tooling around the beautiful Camden-Haven River after some bream and flattie.
Anyway, that's it. I'm off. Good luck to everyone entered in the draw/s to win the Box kits (which is all I have left in the shed) which I have donated for to put up in coming draws.
All the best to everyone.
Cheerio
Mike (a.k.a. Shedhand/Sheddie/Sheddy)If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

Good on ya Sheddie. Even though you are not woodworking, stay in touch and let us know how you get on. It's not like many of us get any woodworking time either but we still hang around here.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Shedhand the way I feel about this forum you have expressed in your words.
It is like a big community of people that have common interest. Wishing you well on your operation and health issues.

P.S. There is a fishing section on this forum.

All the best Mike, hope the knife is kind and the hand that holds it steady. I feel sad about your situation but comforted about the spirit in which you've conducted yourself through these dealings. It's something which I would never be able to cope with, let alone face. And Christos is right, your words have echoed what everyone feels about this forum.
All the best and may the big one be on the end of your rod every time you wet the end.-Scott

I spent last week on my brothers Bertram 32 footer fishing for Tuna off the Friars south of Bruny Island in Tassie. Got 2 nice Bluefin 30kg and 13 kg, 6 nice crayfish and a big feed of flattie . I couldn't handle the tuna rods but my nephew did enough to wear both of us old farts out.
CheersIf you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

Good luck Mike. Hope to see you at the "other shed".

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Hi Sheddie,
All of the best.
Looking at your new motto I have to remind you it's better to be a has been than a never was.
