Will have to see how long it takes them update there website.
Here's hoping a new venue might help improve the show.

    From the Impressive Exhibitions website:
    BigAndExcitingChangesAreComingToTimberAndWorkingWithWoodIncludingABrandNewWebsite-StayTuned...

For all enquiries about 'Timber and Working With Wood' shows please contact Candice Tocknell-Gray on 0478 811 234 or email [email protected]
This is followed by a logo for Phoenix Exhibitions - Do we have a new player in the game.

Aptly Phoenix is a mythological bird with the ability to regenerate itself:

    From WIkepedia:

A phoenix depicted in a book of legendary creatures by FJ Bertuch(1747–1822)

In Greek mythology, a phoenix (Ancient Greek: φοῖνιξ phoînix) is a long-lived bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again.
Associated with the Sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. According to some sources, the phoenix dies in a show of flames and combustion, although there are other sources that claim that the legendary bird dies and simply decomposes before being born again.[1] There are different traditions concerning the lifespan of the phoenix, but by most accounts the phoenix lived for 500 years before rebirth.[2] Herodotus, Lucan, Pliny the Elder, Pope Clement I, Lactantius, Ovid, and Isidore of Seville are among those who have contributed to the retelling and transmission of the phoenix motif.
In the historical record, the phoenix "could symbolize renewal in general as well as the sun, time, the Empire, metempsychosis, consecration, resurrection, life in the heavenly Paradise, Christ, Mary, virginity, the exceptional man, and certain aspects of Christian life".[3]

I also researched the contact given in the quote above -
Candice Tocknell-Gray, she is Brisbane Retail Manager at Carbatec.

If this is a "phoenix company", a form of corporate skulduggery, perhaps the appropriate website is ASIC.

D-Type, I think that "Phoenix" is the registered name of the company rather than a description of its trading practices. I could be wrong but for now I am hanging on to a small glimmer of hope that something good is about to happen.

Since the contact person for "Phoenix" is a senior Carbatec employee, one possible scenario is that Carbatec, who have been staunch supporters and exhibitors at the twwws for years, have formed a company either by themselves or in conjunction with other exhibitors and bought out the previous owners, Impressive Exhibitions. I have no inside knowledge of this and everything will eventually come out in the wash. But for now it gives me hope that at least something different might happen going forward from here. Watching and waiting.

Pheonix will be running the WWW Shows in future.
The 2018 Sydney show will now be held at Rosehill Garden Racecourse on 20-22 July.
5000 free car parking spaces and large hall and a railway station next to the venue.

A search on ASIC website reveals that Phoenix Exhibitions was registered as a company in March 2018.

Let's hope the next thing the new owners do is to change the date of the Melbourne show to get away from the clash with the Downunder Turnaround, which has been running on that weekend for over 20 years.

Downside to that Doug - I'd be competing with all you buggers to get the good timber (or maybe I should trek down to Phillip island)

Well Gab, if things kept going the way they were, there probably wouldn't be any good timber to compete for. I hope that everyone gives the new organizers a fair go and things improve from here.
