sydney tool sale & swap 2010
Hi all, just had a call from Henry Black, he's the organiser of the tool sale and swap at the Strathfield Mens Shed, Sunday August 15th.
He was wondering if I was going to have a sale this year but I don't have enough stuff to justify a whole table. He very kindly suggested that if there were a few forumites that had a small amount of stuff each and wanted to share a table, he would provide that table/stall and he would let us do that for free.
Could be a good way to get rid of those bits and pieces you no longer need, meet other forum types and all the other stall holders as well, there was heaps of good stuff there last year. (and a good chance to buy new toys, I mean tools)
The only limitation is that no power tools are to be sold or demonstrated in the hall.
So, reply here if you're interested and we'll go from there.
cheers, billy

Hi Billy,
Just a few questions about it.
Can you sell new tools there?
How much is it for a stand / stall ?
I have a bit of stuff that might interest people.
Regards,
Matt

Hi Matt,
new and old tools, timber, bits and pieces, anything to do with wood type stuff, there were people selling all sorts of stuff last year, a huge range of things, old collectables, magazines, books, even some metal working gear, old brass handles, knobs, locks, hardware, lights, lanterns etc etc,
The only rule is no power tools sold or demonstrated in the hall.
Henry has offered the stall for woodwork forumites free of charge, could be a good way to catch up with other forum members too.
I dont have enough for a whole table (about 6' x 4' from memory) but Ive got some little bits I can part with so happy to join you and others on the stall.
Its very informal, come and go as you please, wander around and buy/sell/swap.
Was a good day last year.
Any further info just message me here, Im in Vic Tuesday to Friday(look out Aussie) so I may not reply immediately but I will get back to you asap.
cheers, billy

Did you go to the sale?
I had to go to a fishing club outing, too many things to do, not enough time.

Hi Billy, i was down there as my Mum lives nearby, shes ,90,and i visit sundays ,it was a great sale , must have been 100 mtrs of tables packed with tons of hand tools, it would have been pointless to try and sell my few items, no way, and an hour in there was enough. i picked up a pair or stanley spokeshaves , round and flat ,dual adjusters, perfect for $40.fishing trip sounds good too , rossco
