I am writing this to bring attention of the members of this forum to a supplier of tools in Sydney. sydneytools.com.au has four stores in Sydney and surrounding suburbs and delivers all of the best brands at the best prices. Talk to thier staff and you'll know the difference.

I've put my order on 20th of January, still nothing.
Sent them 3 emails - no answer.
Made a few phone calls - "we'll call you back as we get info about you order"... That's it.
Not happy

I had the same run around. I put in an order, some arrived and some was on back-order. fair enough. Was told up front that it would be three weeks. Also fair enough. When three weeks came and went, I emailed, no response. I called and got a 'I'll call you back' - this happened several times over the next few weeks.
In the end I had to threaten them with challenging the payment through paypal claiming non-delivery before they would refund the portion of the goods not delivered (over $500 worth).
I'm not compaining about suppliers being out of stock. In this case it was clearly part of Triton's current and ongoing issues.
I was very unimpressed with the service and the level of professionalism of the outfit. Oh, and it took me weeks to get an invoice too...

I went to see them about a Metabo Duo sander, said they had them in stock. They only had the small version in stock, they said they'd call me when they got morein. Still waiting for that call 2 months later. Luckily I found one in stock elswhere, or I'd have very tired arms from hand sanding!
Haveing said that, they were still in a mess after a big renovation, once they get it sorted, they looked like they'd have a good range, but I felt if they didn't have it in stock it wouldn't be worth bothering with an order.

If you order over the phone expect to save a few $$ off the website price.
We almost always go to brookvale and enjoy great services / prices.

Sydney Tools are tools!
Hej!
This is my BAD experience with the tools at Sydney Tools. I am still angry about it now as we had to utilise sub-standard borrowed equipment and only got half the job done. The story goes like this:
Last year I rang Sydney Tools to ask if they had a particular tool in stock. I told them that I was heading over to WA for a fieldtrip and that the item was urgently required. We we mucking about in the Cape Range area and a looooong way from any hardware store but the one in Exmouth is great! Thus without the tool we could not do everything we wanted to accomplish.
After a bit of messing around I was told by "a manager" that they had the tool "in stock" and that they would send it once payment was received. I was assured that they could get it to me before we left - a bit over two weeks.
That afternoon the credit card details were handed over and I waited in anticipation for over a week. A few follow up calls later they admitted that they had in fact lied about having the tool in stock and that it would not arrive until AFTER I had come back from the fieldwork.
My advice to you Sydney Tools is to always speak the truth to customers particularly as they might have been looking to order significantly more equipment - fyi in the region of $10-20 thousand! At the time the media were saying that we are heading into a recession ... exceptional business tactics showed by these people.
My adivice to people dealing with Sydney Tools is don't believe them as they only want to take your money and let you swing. BE CAREFUL. If they say they can get it for you go somewhere else!
yours un-sincerley to them at Sydney Tools,

My experience with has been good .I bought a Triton MOF001 router from them off Ebay .
I received a TRA001 ,I called them and they said I could keep the router of I wanted at the price that I paid for the MOF.
I decided I wanted the MOF and told them I would return the TRA and that the postage would be considerably more than the 10..0-0 they got charged. .
They sent the right router and a set of Stanley Procut router bits which arrived a week later .
The fellow I spoke to on the phone was Michael ,not sure which store he was at though.Very helpful fellow.

Lying is not an option ...
Hej Kev,
I have no doubt that these guys can do well in most circumstances.
I have worked in a small business owned by my family and I understand the pressures of service especially when everybody expects things yesterday; we always tried our best to get the customer what they wanted but always made sure that we told them whether or not it was possible, how long it would take if there were problems, a conservative estimate on how long they may have to wait given all of the problems associated with delivery times of raw materials, etc etc. But things sometime go awry with deliveries or whatever but you always told the customer with a phone call.
We did not lie.
Sydney Tools outright lied to me about the availability of the product I wanted.
They should have told me straight off that they did not have the item because I would have tried elsewhere as I urgently needed the tool for fieldwork - I certainly did not want to take risks with a delivery timetable. So of course the tool did not turn up and I was left scrambling to find an alternative. I was lucky that another field trip had been called off due to some violence in Indonesia so we were able to borrow a replacement item which was on its last legs and certainly something I would not have borrowed if I had a choice. Yes it did fail while we were out in the field.
I am glad that you had a good experience with them but I feel that people should be told of bad experiences and hopefully Sydney Tools also learn something from the experience particularly if they read this. They should not promise the earth and deliver dust.
cheers

Update on my Drill Doctor Order
Ordered on the 12th (Thursday) at 10PM
Picked it up at the Avoca Post Office 9AM 16th (Monday)
Sydney to Central Victoria in that time frame......I reckon that's pretty good
The game has been lifted.

Glad to hear it. I always prefer to post positive things about a company, but in my experience I haven't been able to.
They do have a great range and the prices are excellent. Their business model seems to be to carry some stock and list a whole bunch more as stocked/on order to keep overheads low. I guess the wheels fall off when they make promises that their suppliers can't keep .
Hope they sort it all out. I will maybe try them again someday, but being worried about getting lied too doesn't make you too confident...
Cheers,

Like Gaza I have purchased over the counter at their Brookvale store and found them to be helpful and negotiable. Maybe ring the Brookie store next time you want to make a purchase?

I was very definitely interested in a Triton 15in thicknesser last year and Sydney Tools seemed to have the best deal going. Sent 3 emails to them via their website "Contact Us" link, never once got a reply. Not going to place an order and pay for goods (close to a grand then) when the prospective supplier hasn't even got the courtesy to spend a minute to say 'yes mate, in stock or 2 weeks away, price is ..., shipping is... .'
Unfortunately don't know if I will ever have one now as my wallet and bank account are fairly close to empty, and there is the high degree of uncertainty regarding Triton.
